Even with COVID-19 infections and deaths going down consistently in most places in the U.S., the observance of this year’s 123rd Philippine Independence Day by Filipinos in the U.S.A. on June 12th still show a cautious sense of joy. Many chose to do virtual celebrations in their preferred platform but with the same commitment and passion that hope to deliver as much excitement to all. Chicago’s PIWC (Philippine Independence Week Committee) took an exception by hosting its traditional Independence Day Picnic, with its usual games, dancing and a whole lot and variety of food to feast on.
